Update fields when macros are disabled

Hi,

I have a document with macros in it. When I open this document without
enabling the macros, I am unable to update fields in my document. Is that
normal?

I believe we need to know more about the document in order to answer your
question. For example, what kind of fields are in the document? What are the
macros for?
