D

Dave Horne

I keep having a problem installing Microsoft.net Framework 1.1 Service Pack
1 which was released today or yesterday.
I rec'd the error Code 80070001.

I deleted the Windows'Software Dist.\ DataStore folder but still no luck.
Suggestions? Thanks, DH

Sorry, I just now saw the update stuck to the hard drive. I'll assume the
servers were just overloaded (?).

Ignore the previous message, it was not in fact installed. Back to square

Suggestions? Thanks, DH

I'll tell you here like I told you in another NG. A SP for a .Net framework
is for the framework itself and is not geared towards any O/S per say, as
any framework version can be installed on the computer -- multiple
frameworks on the computer.

you have 124 computers that are all connected to the Internet and you
have no control over them?
You idiot, hide the damn update.

Many people are having this problem. I am also having it. I guess it
will take a while for microsoft to fix it. I started having the problem
yesterday and did everything in the help menu like emtying the history
in services etc. Nothing helps. The probelem persists.

Peace

Just go here:
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...4F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en>
and download the update manually then go back to MS Update and search
for more updates, you should find another security update to install.

I spent about 45mins trying to get MS Update to load KB867460 but could
not :-( The only way was to do it manually.

Annie, you do see the date on that SP1 for Framework, don't you - 8/30/2004.

I 'solved' my problem by simply uninstalling 1.1 from Control Panel.

Annie, one more thing, I posted a 'very general question' at
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework and rec'd the following answer:

Regardless of the date it solves the problem for me :)

I guess misery wants company. I have tried all suggestions and nothing
seems to work. Has anyone had any success??

I received the "New Updates Are Available" in my tray today. The update is
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1. Every time I try to install it,
the installation fails. Now I can't get the "New Updates Are Available" out
of my tray nor can I install the Framework update. If this update is for XP
and not Vista, why didn't I get the update on my XP computer.
