Well, make sure you bug it then.

Anyway, when you say "KB916184"... that means nothing. I try that in the
Microsoft KB, and have a try for yourself...

This Installation is an Upgrade from a Squeaky Clean Install of Windows XP
Service Pack 2 (Might Affect the Outcome of the Results).

P.S.S. The Update Failed a 3rd Time (which occured before I had all the
problems with Avast 4.6 Home Edition), as mentioned below! Any bets on what
will happen if I try to install it a Fourth Time?

K

Kevin John Panzke

The Update did indeed fail for the Fourth Time, I am now trying the Install
Updates and Shutdown Option, however the Computer is now just sitting there
completely Idle, and is Refusing to Shut Down.

K

Kevin John Panzke

The Update is no longer available on Windows Update for Windows Vista after
Failing to Install 5 times on My Computer, Yesterday.

Kevin Hsu

I'm seeing this, too. One of the updates (I believe it's the same one) is
failing. When I open Windows Update, it says it is installing, but it never
seems to finish. Eventually, it shows it as having failed.

Please do me a Favor: If you go to the Windows Update History Page and
Hover your mouse over the Failed Updates, It will tell you the Complete
Description of the Update, please check and see if it's KB916184 or not, and
let us know the answer.

Please be sure to file a Bug Report using the Microsoft Beta Client (which
can be downloaded from the following website):
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=43655

P.S. The Microsoft IE 7 Beta Team accepts (Microsoft Beta Client) Bug
Reports from Non Technical Beta Tester's, so I am sure that the Windows
Vista Beta Team will accept your (Microsoft Beta Client) Bug Report as well
(even if you are not a Technical Beta Tester).

Kevin John Panzke

P.P.S. And, if you are a Microsoft Windows Vista Technical Beta Tester,
then you can look up the information on my Bug Reports on this issue by
searching Microsoft Connect Screen Name: "kevpan815."
