ol' rocker, does it still displays their 'ad-message' at the bottom of
outgoing mail ? That little thing drove me away from e-prompter.

Well, maybe, but it has developed major bugs in Mail.com accounts and
was the direct cause of them killing about 10 off those suckers.

Isn't that an optional sig? I will check later...

Unfortunatly, it does. Never bothered me as I never used it to send anyway.
And actually, I've switched a few months ago to poppeeper
http://www.poppeeper.com/ but don't use it to send either ;)

Humm, noted. I personally don't use mail.com but many do. Thanks for the
info.

Does it still say in the EULA that the company will periodically connect to
your computer? I've been using YahooPOPS for awhile, but I kind of miss
ePrompter, and would go back if they removed the offending line in their
EULA. If you'll remember, people said the EULA hadn't been changed, but the
program was no longer spyware. But no one ever proved it wasn't spyware.
If they updated the EULA to remove the offending line, I'd have more
confidence that it was not spyware.

Too bad, makes me wonder if it qualifies as freeware when their promoting
their own product through the users email.
I'll check otu poppeeper.

OT: More of a Stones-person myself to be honest, and absolutely a
Led-person.

Now I remember that to, my firewall reporting e-prompter trying to do more
than just collect mail. I wonder if they've changed that.

Thanks for that. I have either forgotten that or never did know it :)
Anyway, yes the EULA still specifies that...
http://www.eprompter.com/eula.htm #7
ePrompter will periodically connect with the ePrompter application on
a user's computer to track the number of active users, transfer automatic
software updates, and send messages through the communications button.
But that's all. We are totally committed to maintaining your privacy. We
do not ask for or collect personal information. The identity information
you provide when downloading and installing is encrypted and stored only
on your own computer and will never be shared with anyone.

I updated Ad-aware and spybot this morning and neither found anything, so
spyware-wise it may be ok, but I'm not crazy about #7 above.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. :) I'm sure it's been discussed here
plenty times. I need to pay attention better!
