update download failure

I tried to download the Windows XP Service Pack 1. It
failed to install due to lack of harddrive space. Before
I started, I had approximately 125MB. Now I'm left with
3.8MB and no update. Where did this failed download
plant itself and how can I recover the 100+ MB it used
up. There are numerous "windows XP Hotfix(SP1)" listed
in my add/remove programs listing. Are these related?

remove one or two of your own programs to gain space, then complete the
download from Microsoft

then remove the update from Microsoft....ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

then put your crappy little programs back on.
