Update Contacts e-mail

C

Chris waller

A colleague has asked me if it is possible to automatically update an e-mail
address for a number of contacts. At work we have a global address list which
we can copy into our contacts list but unlike a distribution list there is no
button to update the e-mail address. I would have thought something like this
would have been a necessity, but unfortunately I cannot find anything to
suggest that this can be done. As the colleague has a large number of contact
which to update I can imagine that this would be quite time consuming if he
has to manually do this, I would be grateful for any information on how he
can achieve this.

Milly,

I want to update some of the the email addresses in the contacts folder with
the new email address which is in the GAL. This is the only information I
want to update. You would have thought there was a way of synchronising this
data or at least updateing it. I believe if you create a distribution list in
your contacts folder and you open the distribution list there is a button
marked "Update Now" which does exactly what I want but this does not appear
when you go into each of the contacts.

Thanks

Chris Waller

John,

As this is a works computer I cannot download anything that might affect the
integrity of the system.

Thanks
