ArGoSoft Mail Server v1.8.8.2

Overview :

ArGoSoft Mail Server is fully functional SMTP/POP3/Finger (Pro version
also has IMAP module) server for Windows 95/98/NT/2000, which will let
you turn your computer into the email system. It's very compact, takes
about 1-5 Mb of disk space (depending on the version), does not have any
specific memory requirements, and what is the most important - it's very
easy to use. Freeware version of Server: Is completely transparent. Runs
as a small icon on your system tray; Can be loaded with Windows startup;
Supports unlimited number of accounts; Supports SMTP authentication.
Useful to protect your server from unauthorized use; as we mentioned
above, it is fully functional server: it relays the messages directly to
Mail exchangers, bypassing your ISP. Has built-in web interface, which
allows users to check mail using any popular web browser from anywhere in
the World.

What's New:

# In service (NT/XP/2K/2003) versions of Plus and Pro, Control panel
application for controlling the server was replaced by normal windows
executable;
# Web Interface: attachments with content type image/vnd.dwg now will be
displayed as links, rather than inline images, which cannot be handled by
web browser;

Argo's email server has been adware for a long time now. I haven't looked
at it lately, but the web interface for it has always been plastered with
ads. According to y'alls rules on grading software that would make it
adware whether one chooses to look at/use the web interface or not. It's
just like any other programs rated as adware...the ads are still there
whether you look at them or not.

Yes, you are correct, and it also says so on their website (in a
footnote!). <http://www.argosoft.com/mailserver/#ad>
