A43 is a freeware file management utility for Windows 2000/XP.

Integrated text editor with unlimited size. Dynamic highlighting
for the web. Integrated zip/unzip features. Simply drag-n-drop files
or click a button. You can also turn your zip archives into
self-extracting archives the same way. Integrated file search to
quickly locate and jump to those lost files. Integrated quick launch
area for fast access to the programs you use the most. Favorite
buttons to quickly open those often used folders. Dual-pane view
for those that demand speed in file management. Requires no
installation, no data is written to the system registry. A43's
configuration information is saved in a local .ini file. Keep it on
your pen/jump drive and take it where ever you go

<snipped>

Is anyone else getting an infected file warning when attempting to download
the file from this site?

When I try to download the file (a43.zip), McAfee Anti-Virus tells me it's
infected by the "Malformed Virus" virus. I'm thinking this may be a false
positive and need to do further testing/checking - but thought I'd ask here
before spending the time.

Thanks!

Well, I tested the download of A43 with Avast! version 4.7 Home Edition
(freeware version of Avast!) & no viruses were detected in the download
of A43 so I'm guessing that McAfee Anti-Virus was giving you a false
postive.

These things happen with Anti-Virus software, one says a file is
infected while another one doesn't detect a virus in the file.

I got the same message and what I did was turn off McAfee,
download the zip file, upzipped it to a folder, deleted the zip
file, and created a new one from the files I unzipped. I think
McAfee gave me a false positive on the downloaded zip file,
but I had no problem with the files inside the zip file.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate your taking the time to run it
through Avast! to check it out. Your results are as I suspected - a false
positve by McAfee, further supported by Joe's post.

Thanks again!
