Update 823718 \ MDAC update wont install but no error displayed

This update on our W2KServer\sp3\IE6sp1\ DC, appears
weekly.

On Win. Update Site, Install Histoty says the particular
patch is installed succesfully multiple times on our
system.

System is stable and trouble free, also running
Exchange2K\sp3.

Any suggestions?

Hi Luke,

Let's perform the following steps:

Step 1: Please download MDAC 2.8 from the following link to the hard disk:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185
d0506396c&DisplayLang=en

Step 2: Boot into Safe Mode:

1. Start the computer. When the Boot Menu appears at startup, press F8.
(Keep
pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears.)
2. On the Windows Advanced Options Menu, select Safe Mode and press Enter.
3. Log into Windows by using the Administrator account and password.

NOTE: The password is blank by default unless you have already set a
password.

Step 3: Double click the downloaded application "MDAC_TYP" to install MDAC
2.8.

Step 4: Restart your computer, access the Windows Update site and click
"Scan for
updates". Does 823718 occur now?
