Up & Down key and arrows

While reading news etc. the keys up, down, & arrow keys keep timing out. I
have to left click to activate again to page down etc. I have a laptop with
Vista? Any suggestions? Thanks

There are quite literally more than 1000 different makes, models and
configurations of laptops but you expect us to psychically determine what
yours is and provide you with a definitive answer to your query for
suggestions.

You gotta put a little more work into this yourself.

Sorry, I am a bit new at this. The laptop is a compaq Presario F767NR
notebook PC with AMD Turion 64X2. NVIDIA Graphics & WiFi certified. Includes
Windows Vista. Thanks for you last reply. It is appreciated. RLH

I don't know what "keys keep timing out" means.
Is there an error message, or does something stop working?
Is this happening in the Windows Mail program?

The keyboard up, down, & arrow keys just stop working. A left click starts
them up again. If not used for a few seconds they quit working again.

Now the good news. I have been looking around and seem to have solved the
problem by going to the control panel, clicked on the mouse icon. Under
pointer options I found that the box "enhance pointer precision" was checked.
I unchecded it and my problem seems to have been corrected.
