Up date doesn't

I have my xp home set to download updates and let me know they are there to
install.

I check the xp update site and do the custom scan and am told there is one
critical updated available.

Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool (KB873374)

My system is connected to my ISP for quiet a while each day but the update
is not downloaded for me to install.

What am I missing?

I could not find the answer as to why my copy of xp home SP2 does not
automatically check for and then download this update when it is set to do
so.
