update doesn't

I have my xp home SP2 set to download updates and let me know they are there
to
install.

I check the xp update site and do the custom scan and am told there is one
critical updated available.

Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool (KB873374)

My system is connected to my ISP for quiet a while each day but the update
is not downloaded for me to install.

What am I missing?

Is this the right newsgroup to post this to?
