unwanted word format

Hi,

When I open up a word document I have a

To:
Cc:
Subject:

formatting just above the actual document. I would like to
get ride of that. How do I do that?

It's a toggled setting - file > send to > mail recipient.

I'm afraid I'm not following you Graham.

Which Word main option and sub-menu do I select?

From the File menu - Send To sub menu - Click Mail Recipient.
Alternatively, if you have it displayed, click the e-mail button that is
highlighted near the left hand end of the standard toolbar.
