Unwanted Startup Window

[RFJ]

I installed some evaluation software (a windows start-up manager) and have
now de-installed it.

However, when I boot up my pc (XP Pro), two notepad windows open up showing
the contents of the desktop.ini file.

For info, the contents of that ini file are :

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787

The pc is working fine, I've run various registry repair and diagnostic
facilities and they are all OK.

But can SKS point me in the right direction of stopping this happening.

Replied to [RFJ]s message :

when I boot up my pc (XP Pro), two notepad windows open up showing
the contents of the desktop.ini file.

Click Start : Run : MSCONFIG
Click OK : Go to Startup tab
Uncheck those Desktop.ini entries
Click OK.

If you want to delete them from the list then :
