Unwanted plugins

I have inadvertently allowed two unwanted ie plugins on
to my system. They were allowed on because I was in the
process of trying to download something else and they
showed up as well. I haven't found anything that allows
me to unplug these items from within themselves.
Therefore, how do I unplug them?
