unwanted lines on a document

I typed a 23 page paper and a few pages have unwanted lines and I can not get
rid of them. Any help?

Do you mean lines of text or drawing lines, borders, underlines, or the
like? A clearer description will help us troubleshoot your problem.

straight lines across the page kind of like enclosing text.... looks like
some form of unwanted bracketing..

I'm having a hard time visualizing lines *across* the page "enclosing" text,
but see is this is your problem:

Other possibilities might be associated with change tracking or comments.

I can't get rid of the lines in the text.... I cant delete or copy and paste
to get rid of them. Any ideas?

They look like borders to me. Did you look at
