Unwanted lines appearing in Word 2007. Can't click and delete.

For some reason, a line appears every time I press Enter. I can't click on
it and delete it, and even when I Select All and delete, it's back every time
I start typing again. What did I do wrong? How can I get rid of it?

That space is points after the paragraph. If you do not want that, you can
change the style on home ribbon to No Spacing. You can also click the line
spacing button on the home ribbon and click on no space after.
