I have a firewall, anti-virus software and all that, but
get get unwanted downloads that are pornographic in
nature. It downloads to "my download files" without my
knowledge, so every so often I have to go in and delete
these files. I can't figure out how this is happening.

You now need an anti-spyware software. Some web site install "hidden"
programs which do thing like you describe.

Ad-Aware 6 is one anti-spyware software.

Check your system for malware/spyware. Most virusscanners don't detect this
class of software, because it's not overtly destructive or hostile.
A very good - and free - spyware scanner is Spybot Search & Destroy, from
http://security.kolla.de. Download it, install it, get the latest downloaded
updates, and scan your system.

Also check your firewall and Internet Security settings.

Hope this helps.
