Unwanted Audio ads

Suddenly my PC will play a 15 second audio ad for CDW Technology. CDW tells me it is probably a "bad" cookie! Removing cookies loaded in the last two days hasn't stopped the ads. This started after an auto d/l of a MSoft Security update and reboot.

My PC has Windows XP with Service pack 2 and all security updates installed. Running Spybot, Ad-Aware and Symantic AV have not solved the problem. I do use AOL's AIM which also auto loads after a reboot and somehow think this is connected to the problem but I can't think of a way to test this theory. I could, of course just cut the sound off as a last resort! Any suggestions will be appreciated...........Lewis

Footnote: deleting cookies loaded in the last two days didn't stop the audio ads UNTIL I rebooted! This apparently cleared them from my PC and the ads have stopped. Does this make sense or was I jusat lucky?.....Lewis
