Unwanted ad blocking from web washer?

Win98, Zone Alert Free, NAV 2001. When I tested WW Classic on their test
site, it didn't seem to work right, so I fully uninstalled it. However, I
still see certain areas on some of the web pages that have their banners
and/or ads blocked. How can this happen when WW is fully uninstalled and my
cashe was dumped? By the way, are there any other free applications that
claim to do what WW does? Thanks,
Adam

I think I know why this is happening. I've updated my Hosts list with an
extensive list from mvps.org. Could it be that it is this host list that is
doing the blocking? I often get parts of the page that says the link's
server couldn't be found.

That is what that HOSTS is supposed to do.
