ununstall and reinstall

I have been told that I have a corrupted file in my
Internet Explorer and that I should uninstall and
reinstall Internet Explorer. How do I go about doing
this safely? Also how do I uninstall Internet Explorer,
I can't find it in the add/remove programs area? Also
how would I reinstall it? I have MSN explorer on my PC
so would I just download Internet Explorer again? Thank
