We have a problem with Outlook 2003 that is rather baffling. When a user
starts Outlook 2003 an untitled calendar item is created in the Deleted
folder. Workstations are XPSP2 and Office 2003 SP2. Any ideas on what might
be causing this?

Thanks, Carl

are you using exchange server? is the item in the folder if you open the
mailbox using owa? if not, how are they starting outlook? is there a start
up switch set for the shortcut they use?

Diane, this is on an Exchange 2003 server. The problem seems to be
workstation specific. If I close and open outlook on my workstation - no
problem. If I log onto the users workstation with my credentials I can
recreate the problem with my account. I was able to start outlook on the
affected workstaion logged in as me as see that the appointment was created
on startup in the deleted box on my other workstation. Icon shortcut points
to c:\program files\...\outlook11\outlook.exe. Nothing special going on with
the shortcut. It does not happen in OWA.

I have this same problem on only one computer in the office. The
deleted calendar item is stamped with the date and time that outlook is
started. Does anyone have a solution to this problem yet? Without
reinstalling outlook?
