Unsucsessful Installation

I'm trying to upgrade my vista basic to vista ultimate.

I made sure that my computer is able to run the program, and so I put the
installation cd, let it run, and just left it.

When I came back, my computer wouldn't stop restarting. It goes to a screen
that says the download was unsucsessful and that it will revert back to my
old version of windows, and then it restarts. The same screen comes up again,
and then it restarts again. How do I make it stop?

But it won't let me do anything, because it just keeps restarting.
