Unstable networking connections

We have a situation with 5 office computers (4 boxes and
one notebook), all running Win XP Pro where the network
cards connect properly sometimes (recognizing the proper
network neighborhood) and sometimes not. On the notebook
the hard card will not work but the wireless will. When
they do not connect properly some of the shared drives are
seen and available, but not all. Unable to diagnose what
is going on here. Have moved cables in the switch around
but no positive results. Open for suggestions. Rest of
office (another 15 computers) OK. Some shared connections
come off an NT4.0 box and others off a Win 200O box.

it could be due to the hub/switch or if it's connected to a cable modem that might be the problem is ur modem dropping
