When my computer was built the guy tried to put a cd burner app on it, but
what happened is that it isn't recognized by windows, and now it (the app)
will not load, and causing a pop-up on start that says the driver has been
disabled. Can anybody help me get rid of this app so I can install my sp2?

Enter Safe Mode and uninstall it then.

The problem is I cannot find anything involving the software in safe mode or
anywhere...

Go start > Run and in the box, type msconfig. Go to the startup tab and see
if a file related to this program is there. If it is, uncheck it and
restart.

checked that too... nothing comes up even close to it (but I did disable
windows messenger :D)

Hmm. Try RegCleaner and see if that doesn't fix it. You can Google search
it.

But in your first post you said
'and now it (the app) will not load,'
So if you know the app, why cannot you uninstall it?
or at least tell us the App name

Did you look in the obvious place namely Add / Remove Programs in
Control Panel?

Hope this helps.
