Unspecified error when importing video created with Panasonic VDR-

I have mpeg files that were created on a Panasonic VDR-M30 DVD-RAM camcorder.
After exporting the files from the Panasonic VDR-M30 DVD-RAM, I attempt to
import them into WMM, and get a message that the file cannot be imported
because of an unspecified error. I believe that the files are mpeg-2 format.

I have been able to use Roxio to create DVDs, but it interferes with
downloading from the camcorder.

I've used MyDVD to make DVDs, but it interferes with Windows Media Player.

I'm looking for a video editing package that will co-exist with this
camcorder, and hoping that WMM is it.

Has anyone worked with this combination?

Movie Maker will co-exist with it, provided you keep each in its separate
corners and not have them get directly together.

Your DVD camcorder creates MPEG-2 files and Movie Maker doesn't effectively
use them. So you have to go with conversions from MPEG-2 to AVI when moving
the camcorder file to Movie Maker.

See the Importing Source Files > Video > Discs page of my website.
