unregmp2.exe entry point not found

hello,

while installing xp pro on a brand new laptop that came with xp home, i got
a dialog box that had this message:

the procedure entry point GETIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link
library msdart.dll.

i clicked ok, but the box would not close.

this was in the installing windows section of the install. the white box on
the bottom left said "registering components".

i waited for about 20 minutes to see if it would continue, but it wouldn't,
so i shut the machine down and turned it back on. then it asked for the
windows xp pro cd, so i put it in. the install continued.

if it helps, windows xp home had service pack 1 installed when i got the
laptop.


what does this error mean?

is this something that i can fix?
