Unrecognized Database format

Dear sir,

We work over a local network. I made a split of an Access Application into
two databases. One contains only my tables, the other contains all my forms,
queries, reports, macros and modules. We have a multiuser enviroment. The
database with the forms, queries, reports, macros and modules are installed
on each client machine, while the database containing the source tables is
installed on a server (Actually an old pendium 2 PC). The whole system works
properly until a messge is displayed on the screen of all the linked PC'S
which says that it does not recognize the database format. Then, we cannot
work on it, since that message. I inform you, that some of the PC'S that are
linked to the database are very old and slow. Some of the records are
corrupted as shown in the linked Tables. Is this message a result of a
general corruption which prevents the one Application to recognize the other.
Is there a need of PC'S replacement. We use the Default Access Database
format 2000 on both datebases. (the two of the PC'S have Access 2000, but the
other two have Access 2002). Your help is important. Please help.

Hi Yiannos,

The configuration you have adopted (front end on each workstation, back
end on a server) is the best one, but it requires a reliable network.
Corruption such as you are experiencing can easily be caused by a poor
connection, a faulty network adapter in one of the computers, or a
faulty hub or router.

See http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm for more information
and troubleshooting tips.
