Unrecognized database format on some Windows systems

I have strange database format problem. Database file can't be opened on one
of our Widows boxes. MS Access gives "Unrecognized database format error ..."
message. Database is made in Access 97 and in original location (Win2000) is
working fine. Problem is while database opening on my laptop (WinXP, MS
Office 2003). The same file was succesfully opened on some other compters
with WinXP and Win2000 with MS Office2000 and 2003. Tonight I have
reinstalled operating system on my laptop, and with fresh system and office
installation the problem remain. I have no idea what is going on. The only
difference between WInXP boxes where this database works and my laptop is
that: my laptop have WinXP volume licenced version the other computers have
OEM versions installed.

Try reregistering DAO:

Start ... Run

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.dll"

Registration of dao360.dll did not help.

Sorry for the delay. I have been working with a brand new computer trying to
get everything configured.

If re-registering DAO didn't help, I'd guess that the copy of the file is
corrupt. Try going through the steps at Tony Toews corruption page:
