Unread Calendar event???

I have my Outlook open and in the folder list, it shows
Calendar (1)

I'm assuming that I have an unread calendar event located
on the calendar. If that is the case, how do I find it
and clear it? And better yet, how did it get on there
without me reading it?

Go to your calendar, switch your view to "By Category" then press CTRL+A to
select all, right-click and choose "Mark as Read".
