Unprotecting a Document

I have a similar problem to one I saw in a post from February. I created a
word document with some check boxes and protected the document, but after
closing it and opening it again, I cannot unprotect the sheet (both the
Unprotect Document and the "padlock" are greyed out). Any ideas how to
unlock it?

Did you also add ActiveX controls from the Controls Toolbox?
