unprompted floppy read/write

I have an issue with my floppy drive that I hope someone
can help me with. When I put a program Cd into my cd-rom
drive and execute the program, my floppy tries to either
read or write. This problem also occurs when I exit the
program, and during splash screens between levels when I
am playing games from a cd-rom. Is this a software problem
that can be fixed? Thanks for any help!

This is most likely from your antivirus software. I know
that Norton does this alot. On
opening/modifying/changind/or deleting any files from
removable media, I.E floppy cd rom, it will attempt to
scan the medai. You should check your configurations in
your antivirus software.

I don't use any anti-virus software unfortunately. Any
other other ideas?
