Unpartitioning query

I have a 30gb HD partitioned into roughly 3 equal parts C, D and E drives.
Is there a method that I can use that will bring all of the partitioned
space on all partitions back to just the single C drive without having to
reinstall windows or using an expensive partitioning software?

TIA

The only way you can create, delete, resize or merge existing partitions,
and not harm your existing Windows XP installation, is to purchase and use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8.0
http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/

Otherwise, you'll need to perform a "Clean Install" of Windows XP.

You will need to use a partitioning program. If the cost of Partition
Magic is too much for you then take a look at BootItNG from
www.bootitng.com which is less costly but also is not quite as user
friendly as P.M. Also BootItNG has a fully functioning 30 day free
trial period.

Good luck
