Disk space issues

I've got a notebook PC running XPSP2. The HD is partitioned into two (C and
D). C is the XP OS and D is for data. My C partition is set at 40GB and and
when I look at the properties, it is showing 39GB used. When I add up all of
the folders (yes, hidden and system files are included), I can only account
for about 18GB. What is using all of that space? The System Volume
Information folder is only accounting for 200 MB and I've cleared all cache
files. Any ideas?

Just a side note. The C was set at 30GB a few days ago. It got to 29BG of
used space and I increased the partition to 40. Now only a few days later,
it is full again. I've checked for viruses and spyware and come up clean.

Thanks

I'm not seeing any large files using the Windows search. I've run
JDiskReport (a file usage utility) and it only comes up with 18GB of files.

Here's a free utility (Scanner 2.0)that represents your system in a
pie chart format. This utility is nice for showing where the large
files are. Clicking on areas of the pie chart expands the view to show
more details:

If that link is too long, here's a short one to the above site:
