Last weekend my computer would not start up. The previous
weekend I had bought Sims for my XP computer and was
working fine. Now it won;t start up properly. It tells me
to go into SAFE MODE to remove newly installed software.

Yet it won't let me in to do that. All it says
is "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"

Can anyone help me?

I really need to get this sorted out asap.

Thanks
Jennie

Jennie;
Power off
Desktop:...Open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
Laptop:... simply remove and reinsert the hard drive.
If that fails:

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.

Do you have a hard drive overlay such as Max Blast?
Windows XP sometimes has issues with overlay software.
You may need to perform a Clean Installation without there overlay
software which is not needed anyway.
