Matt

When I check on security for a hard disk on my system it lists users that I
don't understand. The users are "CREATOR OWNER" and "Account Unknown"
followed by a string of numbers and letters and in parentheses. This system
is behind a wired D-Link router with a hardware firewall. Can anyone
explain what these mean?

Thanks

Account Unknown looks like an account that you have now removed (it still
has entries for this old account on the folders, for whatever reason.) It
could also be accounts from a domain that your machine is no longer a member
of (if it was ever part of a corporate network.)

CREATOR OWNER is normal and simply means "whoever owns this file/folder"
(usually the person who created it)
