unknown in network places browser

Running XP Pro and connected on peer to peer network. In
net work places browser all other computers show up in
computer column as computer name (computer description)
except the one I am on which says unknown, the xp. All
files drives and folders on all networked computers are
accessable???

Hi I am unable to tell you why but I have the same

problem, also the icon changes to a normal folder and
explorer often crashes after opening folders in my shared
folder, it seems to be affecting other people as well and
seems to have started after critical/recomended updates
the other week, I have spent many hours trying to find an
answer but drawn a total blank.
