What distobution are you running, Samba is correct smb's to be shared
across platforms, theres a ton of resources on the Internet
e.g. http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/SMB-HOWTO.html
the really only Issues you may run into is with older versions of
Samba and win98 password encryption make sure your running at least
version 2.2.7
if not try www.samba.org they have 3.0.0 available
if you have all thart inplace and you lookinbg to get Windows shares
from Linux use smbclient
