Units of measure in Word (Office XP) are stuck in centimeters and.

Our IT guys loaded Office Xp on my system. When I opened MS Word the units of
measure on the ruler are in Centimeters. I've tried every setting I can find
and they all read "inches" so I can't figure out why the display still says
centimeters. Help.
