I avoid TinyURL and others similar for the obvious reason the nature of
the site is unknown and I avoid sites unless I have reason know what to
expect.
Someone I do not know posting such a URL on these newsgroups is
insufficient reason to risk compromising a system.
Better that the newsreader configures the entire URL so it is not broken.
Next best is to piece it together.
A third option, but a very distant third is to use TinyUrl and other
similar objects.
Personally I prefer the broken URL far above TinyUrl or others.
those are my reasons and others share similar reasons.
Hi JJ. I love tinyurl, but I use the link preview feature which will
show me the entire original url then ask if I still want to go to the
site. Helps avoid url spoofing.
