Unistall and Reinstall Vista questions

I updated from XP and now I am having a hard time getting some of my programs
to work. Is it worthwhile for me to unistall Vista Ultimate, and re-install
Vista to another drive, and have a dual boot setup? Or will I run afoul of
some Microsoft program checking? I love Vista, but cant wait while the other
programs catch up. And if I do the dual boot thing, do I need a separate
program to accomplish this? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

that is what I did, I installed a separate drive and did a clean install on
it. I have one drive with xp and the other with vista.
I just open the case and remove the data and power cable and connect the OS
I want to use.
I did not connect them together.

Totally not necessary as Jim described..

Do the same, But dual boot, Vistas awesome boot manager will take care of
you. Use vistaboot pro as well and you'll be highfalutin
