Hi
Can anyone advise me the Registry key / SID or similar which is user
specific as a unique ID?
I presume there is one "root" SID generated for each user on a PC?
Perhaps asked differently is there any enduring unique number assigned for
each user on a network?
Kind regards,
David Hingston

Each account created in a account database (local machine's or
Domain's) gets an SID. Delete and recreate the account and it get's a
new SID. A Domain account has a different SID than a local account of
the same name. Machines have SID' as well.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
\ProfileList\ ...

Sysinternals PSGETSID.EXE (free) utility may be of interest.
