what a world

I want to uninstall XP (my processor can't handle it...everything running
slow) but can't. Every time I try to format C drive I'm told to close all
other programs and windows. THEY ALREADY ARE!
I want to go back to 98V2.
Any ideas?

You cannot format the boot drive while windows is running.
You have to boot with 98 boot floppy and format from there.
It may be easier to use fdisk on the floppy and just re-partition.

you must format c: while booting from a boot disk. now
if your c: was formatted using NTFS, you need a utility
called DELPART to delete the NTFS partition then FDISK
then format then install.

good luck

You cannot format the C drive while you are currently
using it. Where is WinXP installed? C Drive? Where are you
trying to format from? WindowsXP which is on C Drive? You
understand why you can't do that?

You will need to convert your C partition from NTFS
(WinXP) to Fat32 if it was converted when WinXP was
installed. This needs to be done before you install Win98.

You will need to boot to a Win9x/Me floppy disk and use
the fdisk utility to delete and recreate your C partition
as Fat32 before attempting to install Win98. You can
download a copy of a Win9x/Me boot disk here:
www.bootdisk.com

Hope this helps!

You pillock, the FDISK command will remove a "non-DOS" partition, as that is listed as one of the options under FDISK!

NEXT PROBLEM:
My computer can't find the floppy drive when starting up, so booting from
startup disk not possible.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for all previous help on this matter.
