Can i uninstall Windows XP home edition without any disc
at all? I was given a computer with XP already on it, but
it wasn't the original operating system, but i want to
take XP off altogether. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Boot with a Win9x startup disk. If the current copy of XP on your computer is
formatted FAT32, you can get rid of it by reformatting. But if it's NTFS,
you'll have to use FDISK to delete the system partition on the hard drive and
then create a new one.

If you plan to go back to any OS that doesn't support NTFS, you'll have to get
rid of all NTFS partitions. Otherwise, you won't be able to access them.

You do it as part of installing whatever system you intend to use
instead - formatting the disk in the process
