Uninstalling with Microsoft (un)Install

I found via Google that MS Install might solve my install/uninstall problem
with Adobe Acrobat. I've found a number of methods that don't seem to work.
The install was partial, and none of the recommended methods from Adobe
work--using regedit and msiexec, Control Panel Add/Delete, install from
file, ... The standard methods fail. Where can I get MS (un)Install?

No idea what you are talking about - unless you mean the Windows Installer
CleanUp Utility?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

You might be able to install it, run it, use it to remove the entries for
Adobe Acrobat (Reader? Professional? etc) and install over the top of the
old bum stuff...

Nor do I. I found it referred to in a msg that described it as MS Installer
(or Uninstaller). I've tried to install Cleaner and because Acrobat Pro is
stuck, it won't install Cleaner. Cute, eh?

Well, there does seem to be an Installer by that name. I just tried Ctrl
Panel add/remove on the program and got this message:
The Win Installer Service could not be accessed.
This can occur if you are running Win in safe
mode, or if the Win Installer is not correctly
installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

Beats me. I guess I'm not own assistance.
