Uninstalling Windows...

D

Dewey

Alright... heres what happened. I installed Windows XP on
another computer and didnt activate it because I borrowed
it from a friend to see how it was. Then the activation
time ran out and I want to put back Windows 98. But heres
the thing... I cant uninstall the OP Windows XP. I put in
the XP cd to uninstall it and then restarted it, which
would usually boot it up. Didnt work. Then I did the same
with my 98 CD. Didnt work. Anybody know what to do?

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition FAT32.
4. Install your desired Windows 98 Operating System.

Greetings --

The normal way to "uninstall" _any_ operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

However, if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to
backup the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS,
then all you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.
