Uninstalling Windows XP SP1

Windows XP Professional was installed on my PC with SP1
already included. SP1 does not show up in Add/Remove
programs but I am needing to run a hotfix that requires
you uninstall SP1 first. I have discovered that to
uninstall SP1 you would have had to "archive" the files.
I was not given this option as SP1 came with the OS.
When I tried to uninstall, it hosed my PC and I had to
reinstall everything........ Anyone have any information
they would like to share? Thanks.......

Since SP1 came preinstalled, there is no way of uninstalling it.
You would need to reinstall Windows XP from a CD that does not have
SP1, but your Product Key would not work with that CD.
What hotfix requires SP1 not be installed?
That hotfix would be included in SP1.
