Uninstalling Service Pack 4 for Win 2K Pro

Is there anyway to uninstall SP4 if when installed, the
archive option was not used(yes, I know a huge mistake)?

I am having problems with printers from a few machines
and am positive that they are being caused by SP4.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

After downloading SP4 update, I could get nothing to
print. When it would receive a print command (from any
window or internet) the computer would shut down. Computer
tech came and uninstalled and reinstalled printer driver
and still would shut down and not print. He then
uninstalled SP4 update and now printer works again.

I am getting svchost.exe has generated errors and will be
closed by windows. According to Microsoft knowledge base,
the way to fix this is download SP4 update........ Sure
and then printer won't work.

Were you able to fix your printer problem and if so, how?
Thanks.

Hi Jane

Your System might be infected with the new Blaster Worm. To see how to
remove the Worm and how to protect yourself, go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp

- First, install the Patch which is located here: (SP2 or above needed)

Security Bulletin MS-03-026:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp

Direct Link to the Patch Download:

- As a second step, use the free Blaster/Welchia Removal Tool:

- Free W32.Blaster.Worm Removal Tool:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

Direct Link: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBlast.exe

- Free W32.Welchia.Worm Removal Tool

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.welchia.worm.removal.tool.html

Direct Link: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/FixWelch.exe

- Restart your PC and re-scan your System to verify MS Blaster has been
cleaned.

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio

I really don't want to reinstall 2K so I will give your
suggestion a try.

Jane, I did not get the printing problem fixed. I was
able to uninstall the SP4 on another machine and it fixed
the printing problem on it though.
