Uninstalling Drivers on Linux

J

Jonathan A.

I have an X850 PCIE card and would like to find a way to get them to
install (and work) in 64 bit SUSE 10.0 ...........:).

I'm not experienced with 64-bit systems, or SUSE, but if it's a generic
X or fglrx configuration problem I might be able to help. Not without
info, though. What's not working? Can you post any error mesages?
Look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log* for X errors, and grep for "fglrx" in
/var/log/messages to find any errors reported by the kernel module.

Are you sure you have the proper version of fglrx? You need the driver
written specifically for 64-bit systems, and for your version of X. Is
is an official SUSE package, or the installer from ATI, or??? Did you
run "fglrxconfig" after installing?

Also, you might try posting on the Rage3d Linux drivers forum. You'll
surely be seen by some SUSE 64-bit users there:

Oh... and here's a page that may help:

No 3d after fglrxconfig. Thanks for the links, I think I may have found the
problem there. Appreciate it.
