When installing or uninstalling just about any program in WinVista it takes
an unusually long amount of time to do so. Can anyone tell me what may be
causing this?

What may seem unusually long for some may be different for another.
Try rebooting before installing-uninstalling.
If the times are shorter, something you had running is slowing it
down.
If there is no change, either that is the way it is or something that
automatically starts may be slowing it down.

Unless you can determine there is a specific problem, your computer
may be OK and you are better off not trying to fix what is not broke.

How new/old is your Vista PC? When new, some things like disk indexing can
suck up resources, making other tasks run slower. And, as another person
responded... what other tasks are running? You -might- (not definitely) have
some other things running that are hogging system resources. (Like what? SAV
comes to mind...)
